# Introduction

> Tapehouse is portfolio margin for Stock Tokens on Robinhood Chain. This is where you read its prices, borrow against a portfolio and build on it.

Source: https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/

Tapehouse lets a holder deposit a whole portfolio of Stock Tokens and borrow against it as one position. Because the position is priced as a portfolio, a diversified one earns more borrowing capacity than the same assets priced one by one, and a concentrated one earns less.

The equity market is closed for most of the week and Stock Tokens trade around the clock. Tapehouse keeps a price band on every Stock Token that stays on chain while the market is shut, says what state it is in (open, closed, degraded or halted), and states a position's liquidation price before anyone signs.

  - [Quickstart](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/quickstart): Read a Stock Token's band and a position's liquidation price in five minutes.
  - [Concepts](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/concepts/band): The band, the session and the margin engine, in the order a loan meets them.
  - [SDKs](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/sdks/overview): TypeScript, Go and Rust, generated from the contracts' ABIs.
  - [Agents](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/agents/overview): An MCP server and a Claude Code plugin that read and prepare, and never hold a key.
  - [Indexer API](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/api/overview): Every event and view of the contracts over REST and a WebSocket, free within a rate and paid per request beyond it.
  - [Contracts](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/contracts/overview): Each contract, its functions and its testnet address.

## What is running

Everything in these pages runs on Robinhood Chain's testnet, chain 46630. The header shows the head block of the testnet's public index, read when you opened the page. [Verification](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/resources/verification) shows how to check each contract against its source.

> **Testnet, not audited.** Tapehouse is not audited and has no deployment on a mainnet that holds value. A Stock Token is a debt security of its issuer, not a share: it carries no shareholder rights, redeems for cash only, and is not offered to United States persons. Tapehouse is not a broker.

## Where to start

### Read the band

Follow the [quickstart](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/quickstart) to read TSLA's band with the TypeScript SDK, Go, Rust or `curl`.

### Understand what you read

[The band](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/concepts/band) explains what its state, centre and half-width mean, and [the session](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/concepts/session) explains why it widens when the market closes.

### Borrow

[Open an account](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/guides/open-an-account), then [borrow](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/guides/borrow) with the liquidation price in front of you.

### Build on it

Pick an [SDK](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/sdks/overview), point an [agent](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/agents/overview) at it, or read the [API](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/api/overview).

## For agents

Every page is served as Markdown at its own address with `.md` appended, for example [`/quickstart.md`](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/quickstart.md). [`/llms.txt`](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/llms.txt) lists the pages with a line each, and [`/llms-full.txt`](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/llms-full.txt) is the whole documentation in one file. The [MCP server](https://docs.tapehouse.xyz/agents/mcp) reads the chain directly.
